Diabetes Diet- How to decide

A diabetes diet is a must for a diabetes patient. Now a day Diabetes has become a common disease for people of any age. Core objective of such diet is to retain perfect body mass by providing suitable nutrition and also maintaining normal blood sugar levels in blood. It is very necessary for a diabetes patient to maintain his diet. The Diabetes Diet can be cast-off alone or along with insulin dosages. It helps in adjusting blood glucose level and cholesterol. It is essential to know that diet of a diabetes patient should differ from person to person on the basis of weight, age, sex, weight and the type of diabetes he or she is suffering from. Diabetes is characterized into two types: type 1 and type 2 based on physiological problems. Type 1 diabetes is insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) and type 2 is non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).

Menu for Diabetes Diet:
For a person suffering from diabetes it is harder to know what food to eat and what to stay away from. Being a diabetic patient, it is not necessary that you will have to skip all sweets. It is unnecessary of skipping breakfast or taking less and light food. The all you need is to maintain a diet chart.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu should be light and energetic. It should be of a low-sugar yogurt and blueberry bran muffin. You can also have burrito before breakfast with egg white or cheese. Patients can also have a variety of egg white omelet spread with onions, peppers and with a topping of mushroom and spinach. Nuts are very useful in a Diabetes Diet. Almonds, walnuts can also be added to your diet. Cholesterol rich foods must be avoided. Have salads, dry beans, pasta which has low cholesterol in them. This helps in reducing bad cholesterol. Yogurt and milk free from fat along with white meat chicken and shellfish can also be taken. Raw onion can be added to your daily diet. By following these there would be increase in fiber to your diet. Increase fiber consumption in the form of raw fresh fruits, vegetables, whole cereals etc. It would be better to eat little but it should be more frequent and consume all those kind of foods that will burn slowly. By doing this blood sugar level can be maintained and can be controlled throughout the day, without accumulating large amounts of glucose in blood. Complex type of carbohydrates is processed slowly in compression with simple carbohydrates and helps maintaining stable blood sugar level.

Diabetes is a very harmful diseases, it is incurable as there is no medicine to cure diabetes. But there are medicines for controlling diabetes. So it will better to control diabetes from home. It can be only done by having a control over food.
Alcohols in the form of beer or wine and cigarettes are very harmful. Expenditure on them must be entirely stopped. It can also lead to increase in the blood sugar level.

Avoiding Foods through Diabetes Diet:
There are certain foods which should not be consumed during diabetes as it can increase the blood sugar level and can decline the condition of the patient. Vegetables containing starch like potato, carrot, beet and beans must be avoided. Fruits like papaya, apple, banana and grapes must not be consumed. Dairy products like cheese are to be kept away. Never consume much of sugar in your diet or sugary foods like sweets, chocolates and ice-creams must be strictly forbidden. Other foods such as corn, egg yolk, fried meat and fast foods like chips, snacks must also be avoided. Always remember to take foods which have low calories in them.

Diabetes is caused mainly due to two reasons; increase in sugar level in their body and dysfunction of their pancreatic cells in releasing insulin. Hence care has to be taken in intake of food and consuming extra calories deposited in the cells. Steps should be taken to devour much of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and also physical labor need to be done in form of jogging, brisk walking and yoga so that the body maintains a constant sugar level. Maintaining sugar level is the most important treatment for Diabetes. No other medicine can cure this unless you maintain an orderly diet.
